Guy Salama, PhD, and Sandeep Jain, MD, both Professors of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology, gave a fantastic Bench-to-Bedside presentation. Dr. Salama discussed his pre-clinical studies on the cardiovascular effects of Relaxin, an insulin-like hormone, and its role in the suppression of atrial fibrillation. Dr. Jain then offered his insight into the basic mechanisms of atrial fibrillation, as well as discuss rate versus rhythm control therapies.
