This Medicine Grand Rounds features Maggie Whelan, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, and Sheila Vélez Martínez, JD, the Jack and Lovell Olender Professor of Asylum, Refugee, and Immigration Law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Dr. Whelan, Co-Advisor of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Human Rights Clinic, and Professor Vélez Martínez, Director of the Immigration Law Clinic, will be discussing the care of asylum seekers, from both medical and legal standpoints, while also offering insight into evaluating patients who seek asylum.
