For this installment in our Bench to Bedside Series, we feature Dr. Riyue Bao, PhD and Dr. Jason Luke, MD. Dr. Bao is an associate professor of medicine and Co-director of Bioinformatics at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Dr. Luke is an associate professor of medicine within the Division of Hematology/Oncology and Director of the Cancer Immunotherapeutics Center. Together they founded the Translational Immuno-Informatics Laboratory (TIIL) focused on the interrogation multi-omics data from the tumor immune microenvironment. By harnessing genomic, proteomic, metagenomic, metabolic, and spatial imaging data from prior databases, computational models can be used to identify novel resistance mechanisms to immunotherapy. As leading figures in the fields of data science, tumor biology, and translational research, we looked forward to hosting Drs. Luke and Bao. Please enjoy their talk titled, “Analyzing the T cell-inflamed tumor microenvironment to nominate novel cancer immunotherapy strategies”.
